The PHGLGA Charitable Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to creating meaningful and lasting change for students, families, and communities throughout Georgia. As a statewide charitable organization, we focus on expanding educational opportunities, supporting youth development, promoting financial literacy, and providing essential relief and empowerment programs in underserved areas.

Through scholarships, community outreach initiatives, and partnerships with local leaders and organizations, we strive to uplift Georgia residents and strengthen the communities they call home. Chairman of the Board

BIO

Chairman of the Board is a lifelong community advocate with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, public service, and youth development. A graduate of Savannah State University and former director of a regional community outreach program, he has dedicated his career to expanding access to education and financial resources for underserved families across Georgia. As Chairman, he oversees the Foundation’s strategic direction, governance, and long-term impact. His leadership is rooted in transparency, integrity, and a deep belief in service above self.

Vice Chair

Vice Chair is an educator and policy advisor with a passion for empowering young people through mentorship and academic enrichment. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia and has spent more than a decade developing programs that support first-generation college students. Her expertise in curriculum design and community-centered leadership helps guide the Foundation’s scholarship and youth development initiatives. Dr. Thornton is committed to helping Georgia’s students build the skills and confidence needed to lead future generations.

Treasurer

Treasurer is a CPA and financial strategist specializing in nonprofit accounting, compliance, and sustainable philanthropy. With over 15 years of experience advising charitable organizations, Marcus ensures that all funds are managed with integrity, accountability, and responsible stewardship. His oversight helps the Foundation maintain the highest standard of financial transparency. Marcus believes that strong financial governance is the foundation of long-term community impact.

Secretary

Secretary is a communications specialist and nonprofit administrator with a background in public relations, community organizing, and donor engagement. She has coordinated statewide service initiatives and brings strong organizational, writing, and outreach skills to the Foundation’s operations. Vanessa is committed to ensuring that every program, scholarship, and event is executed with clarity, professionalism, and compassion.

Director of Partnerships & Development

Director of Partnerships & Development is a business development consultant with extensive experience forming partnerships between nonprofits, corporate sponsors, and local community organizations. Over the past 18 years, he has helped secure grants, build fundraising campaigns, and strengthen donor relationships across Georgia. Tony is committed to expanding the Foundation’s reach and creating sustainable partnerships that accelerate community impact and long-term growth.

Director of Community Programs

Director of Community Programs is a respected faith leader and community organizer who has dedicated more than 25 years to service, family development, and civic engagement. He has led youth empowerment programs, family relief initiatives, and leadership workshops throughout Georgia. His experience and heart for service ensure that the Foundation’s community programs remain meaningful, accessible, and deeply rooted in Georgia’s diverse needs.

Director of Youth & Scholarship Programs

Director of Youth & Scholarship Programs is a former counselor and youth advisor who specializes in student engagement, scholarship administration, and academic support services. She has helped hundreds of students navigate the journey from high school to college by providing mentorship, resources, and advocacy. At the Foundation, Kimberly oversees scholarship processing, student outreach, and youth leadership initiatives, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
